Paul is an experienced Health Psychologist who implements evidence-based interventions, designed to support both physical and mental health. He is motivated to assist individuals in enhancing their overall wellbeing, by developing individually tailored strategies, grounded in best practices.
His methodology is client-centred and collaborative, utilising an array of psychological techniques including Clinical Hypnosis, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT-E, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and aspects of schema therapy, among others.
Paul’s expertise in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (especially Irritable Bowel Syndrome), developed from his experience in assisting people who are dealing with a range of chronic health conditions and the impact of these, on both physical and psychological health. He has supported clients experiencing gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory diseases, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, and challenges related to weight management. His therapeutic approach prioritises minimising the effects of illness, cultivating resilience and adaptive coping strategies, as well as promoting effective self-management. Paul now liaises with Gastroenterologists, Dieticians and other health professionals in Adelaide, to assist patients in this area of psychogastroenterology.
Paul provides general services to adolescents and adults managing anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders and ADHD. He also works with individuals involved in sports and rehabilitation, having qualifications in sprint coaching and strength and conditioning coaching. As a result, Paul aims to optimise performance and assist in recovery from injury, both psychologically and physically.
